Because of bad weather agaon this year, the shooting date for the Photosub Splash-In had to be changed. Entries taken the weekend of the British Splash-In Championship were accepted instead.
There were 11 entries in the Splash in competition from 6 members. There were several members who took images over the weekend who did not enter. Hopefully, we will get more entries next year.
Thanks to all who took part and all who attended the evening, making it a successful night. Special thanks to the guest of honour, Marcus Scott-Taggart who did the judging.

This year, the 18th annual dinner was held at the Alton House Hotel on 7 March 2009. We were very pleased to welcome John Bantin as our guest of Honour, who judged the competition.
A total of 117 digital images were projected in the Blue Water, Blue Water Advanced, Green Water and Green Water Advanced categories.
To make the evening run more smoothly and prevent any issues with projection, judging was again organised ahead of the evening.
The Blue Water category was won by George Mitchell. Bob Soames took the Blue Water advanced category. Daniel Taylor now holds the Gren Water trophy while Martha Tressler scooped the trophy for Green Water Advanced. In the prints competition, Kris Abbey did a double with 1st and Second places.

The Digital Images Competition is now in its 5th year and hardly anyone uses anything other than digital cameras nowadays to shoot underwater. We may need to think of a new name for the future!
This year's competition was held at Len and Pat as usual and our guest of honour and judge this year was Dive Magazine Editor Simon Rogerson. Simon is also a very talented underwater photographer himself so his selection of images was not solely based on editorial potential!
This year's winner was Len Deeley with a shot taken at dawn under the jetty in Gangga. In second place, Anthony Holley's blue spotted ray with 2 cleaner wrasse drew a lot of attention. Bert Lee's scorpionfish looked extremely cuddly and was awarded third place.
The winners and commended images can be seen below. The slideshow of all images in competition can be viewed here.

This year, the 17th annual dinner was held at the Alton House Hotel on 23 Februry 2008. We were very proud to welcome our guests of honour Peter Scoones and Georgette Douwma who judged the competition.
A total of 88 digital images were projected in the Blue Water, Blue Water Advanced and Green Water Advanced categories. Unfortunately, no entries were submitted for the Green Water category.
For the first time this year, no slide images were received and it is predicted that the competition will only include digital images in the future.
To make the evening run more smoothly and prevent any issues with projection, judging was organised ahead of the evening.
The Blue Water category was won by Jan Maloney. JP Trenque took the Blue Water advanced category while Bob Soames scooped the truphy for Green Water Advanced. In the prints coompetition, Len Deeley's grouper was chosen as the winning image.
